Spring Concert plays to packed hall

A fabulous night of music and song entertained a packed hall on Tuesday and Wednesday night with contributions from ensembles, choir and soloists.

The evening kicked off with the James Bond theme expertly played by the Concert Band, and the Swing Band brought the first half to a rousing end with a seriously top-tapping rendition of Jazz Police by Gordon Goodwin.

In between, some stunning virtuoso performances on guitar, trumpet and voice by our GCSE and A Levels students captivated the crowds, and two songs – Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen and Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell – were touchingly sung our choir Canzona.

After the interval, a choir of around 150 primary school children from our local schools performed in a wonderfully condensed version of the musical Scheherazade – four classic tales of the Arabian Nights by Nick Perrin, which was proficiently, narrated by five our students.

Thank you to all the families and friends who came to support our talented musicians and singers this week. Our appreciation also goes to the Chipping Campden School Parents Association for running their 'world famous' bar!
