Work starts on new science laboratories

We are pleased to announce that work has started on a new science building for Chipping Campden School.

A £900,000 two-storey extension will provide two high quality laboratory spaces and a teaching training room to complement that of the existing science department. In addition, refurbishment of existing internal space will provide an additional demonstration laboratory.

Principal, John Sanderson, said: "With more and more students choosing to study A Level Chemistry, Physics and Biology at Chipping Campden School, these state-of-the-art laboratories are much needed and keenly anticipated.

"Each of them will be equipped with the latest teaching and learning technologies, and linked to a dedicated teacher training facility which will enhance the school's role as a regional hub for developing the teaching of science in Primary schools."

The building project, which is being undertaken by Snape Construction of Cheltenham, got underway during the February half term and is scheduled for completion in October.

Head of Science, Mrs Vicki Lennon, said: "We can't wait to see the new laboratories in action as they will greatly improve our students' learning experience here at Chipping Campden School."
