The U16 and U17 Netball Barbados 2016 tour teams in their new kit.
Senior netballers jet off to Caribbean climes!

In the very early hours of Friday 15 July, netballers from Years 10 to 13 departed on a long-awaited and much-anticipated sports tour of Barbados.

The four teams of students jetted off to tropical Caribbean climes, thanks to 18 months of enthusiastic fundraising, which has seen them raise over £7,000 towards new kit and other supplies.

During what will be the third overseas school tour to the region since 2007, the girls will have the opportunity to play five fixtures against a variety of schools and clubs throughout the island, as well as enjoy a few excursions. These include an island jeep safari, a catamaran cruise and swimming with turtles!

The generous help of business sponsors, Pulham's Coaches, Clarity Broadcast, Maxwell's Bar & Grill (London) and Sharp Business Systems has enabled the sports department to purchase some special tour kit for the trip.

The two U16 and two U17 teams are being accompanied on this tour by Miss Henderson from the PE department, along with English teacher, Mrs Brookbanks-Parry, Miss Jones (a former PGCE student) and Mrs Sojka (a retired PE teacher from CCS).

Miss Henderson said: "The girls have been practising hard in recent months and are looking forward to this once-in-a-lifetime experience of joining in friendly competition and meeting new teams. We would like to thank all the sponsors who have helped us buy our superb kit, and to all the parents and family members for their support with our various fundraising events."
